Kin Khao Lae Baw - Have You Eaten?
Our vision is for the cuisine from Lao(s) to be enjoyed and recognized as one of the great food traditions of the world. We preserve, promote, and innovate Lao cuisine by gathering people to build knowledge and understanding through research and documentation.
The Trip That Started It All
As part of the Lao Food Foundation's food retreat we had the unique opportunity to visit with one of the families that have been harvesting kai or riverweed in northern Laos and turning them into one of the most popular Lao snacks kaipaen jun or fried river weed.
