Mother & Daughter Class: Gaeng Kapor Pah -Fish Maw Soup with Chicken and Quail Egg

In this special mother and daughter class, Vienxay and her daughter, Aleena, will demystify the process of cooking the ultimate Lao comfort meal- Fish Maw soup with chicken and quail egg.

Vienxay or also known on FB as “Ann” Inthaly is a known as a Lao dessert extraordinaire, community aunty for all, and serves on the Board of Directors of the newly formed Jai Dee Organization of Virginia. She remains one of Legacies of War’s longest serving volunteers and community caterers and has shared that one of the best ways she continues to serve the community is through cooking and sharing her love of food with the neighborhood.

Aleena Inthaly (She/Her) serves as Chief of Staff of Legacies of War. Aleena currently serves as the lead creator of the “Thip Khao,” a creative storytelling hub that houses the “Thip Khao Talk,” the organization’s very first virtual education series turned podcast.

Aleena’s main passion in life is to connect people through conversations of memories, history, culture, and the traditions that come with meeting people in new places. In her spare time, Aleena is a Washington DC food tour guide and takes groups through the U St. and Shaw neighborhoods discussing the incredible history of the city, its communities, and the amazing places to eat on each block.
